Welcome to North East Metal Spinners
At North East Metal Spinners, we are specialists in the art and craft of high precision hand metal spinning and in series CNC machine metal spinning.
Our blend of traditional hand spinning and the latest in CNC machine metal spinning technology puts us in an enviable position to provide our clients with the products they need.
We have a well established track record of providing great service at competitive prices, but without any compromise on quality.
From blueprint to finished product, no shape is too simple or too complex. We can spin metal up to 42″ in diameter with thicknesses ranging from .010″ to .250″ and with tolerances up to .005″.
We can assist you with material selection and the range of finishing options available, as well as providing a range of additional services including welding, punching, beading, anodizing, plating, polishing and custom assembly.

Our structured program of in-house tool making and manufacturing processes allow us to deliver components on time, every time.
CNC Metal Spinning
It enhances the consistency of each piece, providing an ultra-smooth surface finish.
North East Metal Spinners currently operate a number of custom built CNC metal spinning machines that allow us to manufacture a wide range of spun metal components.
Our CNC metal spinning machines are operated by highly training engineers who use a bespoke CAD-CAM software to design operating programs based on our customer’s drawings / requirements to ensure our clients jobs are completed with accuracy and speed.
Benefits of CNC Metal Spinning
Get more done…
North East Metal Spinners can combine a number of operations which allows for increased efficiency in larger batch quantities by utilising the computer controlled technology afforded by CNC Metal Spinning.
Work to finer tolerances…
Products will work harden resulting in improved tensile strength through the CNC Metal Spinning process.
This can often mean that we are able to use thinner gauge material. Products that are currently being fabricated and can be made to a tolerance of +0.5mm to -0.5mm of a drawing.
Better manage costs…
Owning a CNC Metal Spinning machine means that at North East Metal Spinners we are able to price our customer products with greater accuracy and plan work more effectively as the CNC records a great deal of data that we can use.
Hand Metal Spinning
The metal spinner forms a flat piece of metal over a specially designed chuck to produce the desired shape. The flat piece of metal is shaped around the chuck by the spoon tool making a series of passes over it. The shape of the finished piece depends entirely on the shape of the chuck.
North East Metal Spinners use this method to shape and form the piece for both artistic and functional items. The process was used in olden days to make objects such as bowls, urns, candlesticks and goblets.
Generally speaking only softer metals can be spun by hand. The materials used include cold roll steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and copper.
Advantages of Hand Metal Spinning
Additionally, at North East Metal Spinners it is performed by skilled “craftsmen” who will be able to achieve better control of wall thickness on complex spun metal components.
